Well that's exactly what we did, and we are going to share with you (in our opinion) some of the best shops in town for all of our piano students - who knows, you might even catch us in there eyeing up the latest and greatest in piano and keyboard technology.
Britannia Music Shop specialises in musical instrument hire, including keyboards! They allow you to hire an instrument for as long as you like (as long as it is over three months) at minimal prices, so if you can't yet afford to buy your own instrument then don't worry. They will even offer you a discount on purchasing an instrument if you go on to buy from them. Operating mainly from their head office, they are open on Saturdays at Fleetville Community Centre, Royal Road, St Albans, AL1 4QL.
The Music Dept offer a range of different instruments in their showroom at 67 London Road, St Albans, AL1 1LN, including both digital pianos and home keyboards. They are open Monday to Saturday during normal working hours, so you can stop by at a time to suit you to try some of their extensive range of musical equipment. It's well worth a visit.
Herts Music Centre is probably St Albans' largest music centre, with over 2500 square feet of retail space stocking a huge variety of instruments and equipment, ranging from all manners of pianos and keyboards to guitars, basses, drums and much more. They even offer a repair service, so if you are having trouble with your music gear then this is the place to go.
